Strong leadership by the business community is necessary to ensure that digital technology is used in a responsible way. The focus should be on deploying digital technologies that make the real world much more livable and sustainable. The same digital technologies can be used to help connect the world or divide it, to give an extraordinary access to information to all or spread misinformation globally, to make our societies more sustainable, more reliable or definitely more vulnerable and exarcerbating inequalities. So the question is: what sustainable development goals are you intentionally and restlessly pursuing as guidance for your business models to generate value in a way that makes the real world much more livable and sustainable.

Blockchain technologies is redefining the way we trade, track, transact, interact in a way that allows to verify the authenticity of everything and that makes it virtually impossible to add, remove or change data without being detected by other users. If that sounds incredibly far-reaching, that's because it is. Providing to all with a layer of traceability and global transparency, which inherently promotes the behavior and responsible use of resources of all kinds is becoming achievable. Offering resilience and security capabilities, which hinder any kind of unilateral manipulation that may harm ones is becoming achievable. Combining an unparalleled level of openness compared to the internet, with the security of cryptography, to give everyone in the planet a faster and safer way to verify the origin and alteration of anything, blockchain technologies literally create a brand new standard of what defines trust and trustworthiness, which will help solve some of the global pressing issues, such as, a legal identity for all.

Digital platforms have revolutionized the dynamics of value creation, in particular with the emergence of new value chains, based on the "two-sided network effects". This new kind of value chain has notably inspired new approaches to organizations and accelerated the emergence of business ecosystems. This dynamic of functional meta matrix organization in which several independent organizations decide to act together - as participants around the same conductor - in the greater interest of common purpose, creates "ecosystem value", complementary to the value that each of them creates independently, both beneficial to each party and beneficial to the external environment in which they act collectively. Ecosystems are the cornerstone of an organizational model to address the Grand challenges of our century, to multiply the impact of forces for good, while leveraging the "two-sided network effects" allowed by digital technologies.

Without going so far as to imagine an artificial intelligence capable of imitating human feeling, there is something that inevitably distinguishes artificial intelligence from that of humans and which lies in the understanding and apprehension of the context. The context is made up of so many parameters, some ostensibly visible to the naked eye, and others more discreet, finer, more subtle, made up of weak signals, of details, which are just as many parameters that count in understanding of a context. In addition, considering the nature of perpetual evolution specific to any context, it will take time before an artificial intelligence is able to appreciate the complexity of a context. This is why apps, devices, equipped with artificial intelligence must be associated with an explicit readability of the limitation of the parameters that the algorithm takes, or does not take into account, with regard to elements of context, to help favoring responsible use of these said intelligences, and prevent the risks of inappropriate use.

Contrary to what is often said, data is not the new oil. Oil decreases as it is used, while data can be used and shared ad infinitum. However, if access to data has the power to make a difference for the good of society, it is only a potential. Taking advantage of the full promise from this potential lies in the ability to transform Data into Insight, Insight into Decision and Decision into Action. Democratizing the scope of such potential so that it would be accessible and beneficial for the greatest number of people, can be achieved by building 'Open Data' platforms, but what about leap frogging - why not go even further to build 'Open Insights', and even 'Open Decisions', bridging the gap between Data science and Action, as a means of making even more accessible for anyone the ability to act and address some of the major societal problems humanity is facing, thanks to the power of data.

Both Machine and Human learnings have to deal with similar issues: Supervised vs unsupervised learning, Structured vs unstructured learning, Few-shot learning vs "Blink" learning (Malcolm Gladwell), Long/short term learning vs "forgetfulness vs retention" tradeoffs, Zero shot learning vs "dream" learning, Visuomotor learning vs Multisensory learning (AVK), Explanability vs Biases. By learning about how machines can learn, we are discovering and will further discover new ways of learning which hitherto had not been explored or even imagined and which may well revolutionize the standards we know about our own way of learning, to augment human intelligence.

We are living a shift from the 'Knowledge Economy' to the 'Trust Economy' driven in one hand by the needs of more predictability, more accuracy and more efficiency, and in the other hand by the needs of more fairness, more transparency and more sustainability. In terms of what's next for the 'Knowledge workers' we can envision that Digital Technology and especially AI will drive four types of change which could fit into this 4-quadrant: on the bottom left, there are jobs that will disappear, on the upper left, jobs that will be technology-augmented, on the bottom right, those jobs that will evolve to become tech-job, and on the upper right, jobs that are quite hard to imagine from now because they will be related to things for which we know nothing yet. In which of these types of change will AI have the greatest impact on our society?

The democratization of access to Information has made it possible to create a multitude of chances and opportunities throughout the world in all fields - and what if the democratization of access to Education, to any form of Education, without any form of financial consideration, was made possible.

We are living in an age where everything that exists in the real world can be replicated digitally - our cities, our cars, our homes, and even ourselves. Powered with AI, these sophisticated 3D models called "Virtual Twins", combined with the Internet of Things, are and will more and more be able to constantly learn and help improve their real counterpart, whether it is some "Things" or a "Human". These exact digital replicas of what exists or may exist in the physical world is and will definitely guide new developments to meet the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs aka Sustainable Development.

Sustainability driven digital transformation can enable solutions to the "five hard problem" of climate action: (1) Monitoring and modelling environmental systems and emissions at global level, (2) Full Supply Chain transparency and disclosure of environmental value, (3) Automated Sustainability decisions and optimized used of resources, (4) Agile and participatory environmental governance, processes, services and enforcement, (5) Enabling consumers to select green products and lifestyles & receive feedbacks. That's why the UN Environment Program is leading the charge of a COalition for Digital Environmental Sustainability (aka CODES).

Cybersecurity is the absolute condition of digital trust. While cybersecurity has always been a never-ending race, the rate of change is accelerating. With the advance of AI, Cyberattackers will be able to produce more and more new types of cyberattacks that can evade human-driven cyber defenses. AI-Enabled Cybersecurity is becoming a no brainer in trying to turn the tide against new generation cyberattacks. Being the two faces of the same coin, Cybersecuring and building trust will more than ever precede digital for good to deliver on its promises to society.

The ethics of artificial intelligence does not exist. This is ours. Ethical principles are functional requirements which ultimately determine what we design with digital technologies. The creation of the resulting products and services requires the creation of new user manuals that define principles of responsible and ethical use. This is where technology can advance humanity.

Digital transformation is first and foremost a transformation in the way to solve (big) problems with a user and customer-centric approach. This goes with a greater opportunity to place human and society at the center of the value creation process while enhancing one of the most critical aspect of our intelligence: empathy. On the contrary, any digital transformation which fails to transform the way we think in solving problems with user, customer, hence human at the heart is doomed at creating a double effect harming consequence: not only it amplifies inefficiency in establishing or increasing any economic viability but it multiplies handicaps and constraints in preventing building good for society. Digital Transformation is the purposeful human experience we want to create.

It happens three big changes, one being the consequence of the other and both being exacerbated by the third: the definition of what a Market is has changed. Social impact and Grand societal challenges has become critical dimensions of what intrinsically characterize the definition of what a market is. This leads to a profound change in what the definition of a company is and what the meaning of any company role, mission and responsability should be. These two concomitant changes are exponentially amplified by technologies which re-question the realms of the possible and the frontiers of the accessible. In this context, ‘Sustainable Growth’ and ‘Sustainable Development’ are not antonym but synonym. Companies that fail to understand and embrace this new business reality are running business models with a more and more approaching expiration date, no matter the efforts they make in transforming themselves digitally. Leading transformations is instrumental, but knowing why is vital.

Artificial intelligence poses a new challenge on up-skilling and re-skilling in organizations since such an approach, such a plan, must not only include the Human but now also the machine. We, humans, are responsible for what 'Machine Learning' - essential to any Artificial Intelligence - learns, how it learns what it does and does not learn. How we teach what the machine needs to learn is at the heart of 21st century learning issues. This implies that we must not only continue to learn to develop our own intelligence, but also learn how the machine learns to do its own.

To which extend dominant platform business model could change our global economy developing a new paradigm based on Value Distribution over Value Concentration and what does it implies from a governance perspective to make this happen and work at scale for good to society.

As policymakers challenge big tech platforms, it might be time for what Marshall calls a "Platform Magna Carta" including at least the following seven rights that would be fundamental principles for platforms regulation, as a force for Good to society. Right of Free Expression (Duty to Permit Speech) Right to Freedom from Harm (Duty of Care) Right to Equal Treatment (Duty of Impartiality) Right of Due Process (Duty of Accountability) Right of Representation (Duty to Share Governance) Right to Fruits of One’s Labor and Data (Duty to share the wealth) Right of Transparency (Duty of Disclosure)

Developing a Digital Mindset is as much the most underestimated and critical topic in our digitalized society where asking the right questions, and making the right decisions require understanding new words, new codes and new principles that visibly and invisibly impact all lives. One of the greatest challenges of our time is this new form of illiteracy, caused by the Digital Divide which, if it is not addressed, from school to universities, in companies and up to the level of governments, risk creating categories of sub-citizens, deprived of their rights to security, integrity, freedom and access to opportunities to grant themselves certain opportunities. Developing a digital mindset means being consciously intelligent in this world that has become digital, while remaining more deeply human than ever.
