The Beena Ammanath Conversation

Beena Ammanath is a global thought leader in AI ethics and an award- winning senior technology executive with extensive experience in AI and digital transformation. Her career has spanned leadership roles in e- commerce, finance, marketing, telecom, retail, software products, service, and industrial domains. She is also the author of the groundbreaking book, Trustworthy AI.

Beena currently leads the Global Deloitte AI Institute and Trustworthy AI/ Ethical Technology at Deloitte. Prior to this, she was the CTO-AI at Hewlett Packard Enterprise.

 

Before HPE, she was Vice President of Innovation and Data Science at General Electric. She has also held technical and leadership roles with companies such as Thomson Reuters, British Telecom, Bank of America, E*TRADE, and a number of Silicon Valley startups.

 

Beena has served as Board Advisor to a number of startups including Flerish, Clinivantage, Predii and iguazio. Her corporate leadership has influenced the global strategic direction and implementation of innovative solutions with marquee companies and startups. She empowers companies to envision their futures and ensure their continued relevance in a digital world.

 

She is in great demand as a speaker due to both her expertise and ability to communicate complex issues in understandable language. Over the past few years Beena has delivered keynote speeches at such events as MIT EmTech, AI Summit, Pujiang Innovation Forum, Chief Data Officer Summit, CTO Forum, Chief Analytics Officer Summit, Grace Hopper Conference, Society of Actuaries, AI Forum and Big Data Conference.

A champion for women and multicultural inclusion in technology and business, Beena founded Humans for AI, a 501c3b non-profit promoting diversity and inclusion in AI. Her work and contributions have been acknowledged with numerous awards and recognition such as 2016 Women Super Achiever Award from World Women’s Leadership Congress and induction into WITI’s 2017 Women in Technology Hall of Fame.

 

Beena was honored by UC Berkeley as 2018 Woman of the Year for Business Analytics, by the San Francisco Business Times as one of the 2017 Most Influential Women in Bay Area and by the National Diversity Council as one of the Top 50 Multicultural Leaders in Tech. In 2016, she won CIO.com and Drexel University& 39;s first-ever Analytics 50 awards for being one of the top 50 global innovators in data science and was also listed as one of the Top 8 Female Analytics Experts from the Fortune 500 by Forbes.
